Wasim Ben Khadra

Senior Manager, External Communications, Africa & Middle East, Standard Chartered
I am a passionate and creative communications professional, with over a decade of experience in Corporate Affairs and Marketing Communications. I pride myself for being one of the few people in the Middle East who are able to think, strategise and communicate in both Arabic and English.

While media relations and reputation management is my forte, I have led and managed a number of projects in internal communications, social media, public speaking, change management, reorganisation, rebranding, event management and crisis communications. I have a proven track record of delivering results in fast-paced corporate settings through strategic communications, a strong professional network and innovative thinking.

I believe in success and personal achievement and I value personal integrity. My strong drive, discipline and ambition for success allowed me to manage time and resources across multiple tasks as well as inspiring individuals and teams to optimise delivery.

I hold a degree in Business Administrations as well as Global Master of Business Administration (MBA), Major: International Management, from the Swiss Business School. A certified Public Speaker and an International Protocol & Etiquette Consultant by two well-recognised bodies: the Protocol School of Washington and the Department of Protocol, Dubai. So, I got the best of both worlds: local and international; a competitive advantage that has helped me share my advice on cross-cultural strategies, intercultural communication and geopolitical issues.

In 2017, I was approached by one of the board members of the prestigious Harvard Alumni Club in the UAE to advise their president on a number of projects/initiatives and look after their marketing and communication strategy in the country. A task that I have been handling on pro-bono basis ever since.

I’m a married family man with three kids (two daughters and a son).
