Claire Newell

Claire Newell is the Head of Communications for Europe and the UK for Standard Chartered Bank, based in London. She leads a team across London and Warsaw (Poland), who is responsible for promoting and protecting the reputation of the Bank's nine European markets. Providing both internal and external communications expertise, the team supports Standard Chartered's Corporate, Commercial and Institutional Banking and Private Banking businesses, and functions. Claire has over 18 years of communications and Public Relations experience in Financial Services, having worked for global investment and UK retail banks. She started Standard Chartered in 2020 as a Senior Communications Manager, and was promoted in 2023 to her current position. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, other roles in her career include working for TSB, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and energy firm BG Group.
