Lupa do Bem - Scaling NGO access across Latin America

Sherlock Communications

Founded in 2021, Lupa do Bem was created from a belief inside Sherlock Communications that the core tools of public relations — storytelling, listening, credibility and access — could strengthen grassroots organisations, not just commercial brands. By 2025, as Brazil prepared to host COP30 and ESG debates intensified across Latin America, many NGOs most active on the ground remained invisible beyond their communities, lacking access to funding, platforms and international credibility. Rather than launching something new, Sherlock made a deliberate decision to scale Lupa do Bem across Latin America while preserving the proximity and trust that made it effective in Brazil. The guiding insight was clear: NGOs were not failing due to weak ideas or commitment, but because access to opportunity was structurally unequal. Lupa do Bem would therefore scale by becoming more useful, not louder. The initiative combined journalistic storytelling in Portuguese, Spanish and English, constant listening through community networks, and practical capacity-building via free training, language support and communication tools. By the end of 2025, Lupa do Bem had expanded into 11 countries, supported 512 NGOs, and delivered sustained visibility and confidence — demonstrating how PR can be used for access rather than amplification alone.
